If it makes you feel any better, my pot has had the pits in it for years and I still use it. I'm sure it will be an issue eventually, but I think you probably have some time before "the end".

If you know someone who is a TIG welder, you could have them reflow those spots in there to clean up the pits. One of my buddies that has the same pot as me offered to do mine.
