San Fran in October

Mon Sep 01, 2014 8:16 pm

I will be visiting San Francisco (from New Zealand) for a conference in October. We're staying just off Union Square from 10th-17th October. When I was over last year I made it to City Beer, Beer Revolution & drove up to Russian River. What should I aim to do with my couple of days of free time this year?

How easy is it to get to the Hop Grenade from downtown SF?

Anything good going on in that week (10th-17th October), beer or otherwise?

Cheers,

Martin

I haven't been yet, but I've heard nothing but great things about Cellarmaker Brewing Company. I'm hoping to get there myself next time I'm in town.

If you're staying in Union Square, Concord and the Hop Grenade is about a 45 minute train ride from San Francisco. From there, it looks like it would be a few blocks walk.

If you haven't seen it already, Beer by Bart should also give you some good ideas. It gives reviews and directions to both Cellarmaker and The Hop Grenade, as well as many others
