BN Soldier brew off sign up sheet

Sun Aug 04, 2013 8:08 am

So any of you soldiers who would like to do a little BN brew off sign up here. Talking with Bdawwwwwwg yesterday he thought something a little easier than a cal common would attract more brewers. So I was thinking of a porter. The brewing with stye episode for October is a Robust Porter, but we could all just brew up our favorite porter recipes and have fun seeing who comes out on top. Sign up by the last week of August if you are interested. We can come up with a way to judge the entries early in October.

Not sure how all this is going to work out, but I could be interested.

I would suggest having this be a quarterly thing with a different BJCP category each time and having a "judging center" rotating between locations of participants that have at least 1 BJCP judge that will partake in the judging and coordinate the feedback, etc.
Eagle Dude

On Tap: Barrel Fermented Berlinerweisse 3.2%; American Pale Ale 6.3%, Amarillo Blond 5%
Aging: Flander's Red in a 60 gallon Merlot barrel
Fermenting: Robust Porter 6.5%

This! Rotating judging centres. You guys could even organise a get together where people fly/drive in and make a weekend out of it.
