Questions on this recipe, looks like you transcribed it well from the show!

Batch vs Boil size? seems odd

Bittering hop additions, could anyone really detect the small amounts of Summit & Horizon?

Why 6 pkgs of S-04? Seems like overkill.

6 Packs for 12 gallons isnt bad for that gravity and no starter.

Might the boil size be after boil off?
Seems pretty efficient to only lose .14 gallons, I know for sure I lose more in my keg.

Not for nothing, just curious...but on the podcast, they say WLP002 for the yeast. Why did you sub in S-04?

planning to brew this soon, will be re-using the WLP002 from an ordinary bitter that is fermenting

anyone else notice that on the Lagunitas label it clearly shows an O.G. of 1.076 and 64 IBU? I know the hop models can be way off but am wondering if I should shoot for 1.070 per the show or 1.076 per the label.

I just did not set it up in Beersmith for the Batch vs Boil size. The basice recipe is pretty accurate.
I will be dry-hopping it tomorrow.

Does anyone have the water profile that was used by Lagunitas or by Tasty? I've been searching for the Petaluma water quality reports, but the one that I found doesn't list some of the compounds (i.e. - Ca and Mg). I remember that the brewer from Lagunitas said that they add Gypsum, but I was hoping someone had a least a starting point for me to go off of or the profile that Lagunitas uses.

Thanks,

Funny I just got a reply from a PM I sent Tasty (thanks Tasty!) - he said he just used his standard Tasty water profile.
