Homegrowing hops in Kansas

Thu Feb 14, 2013 12:32 pm

Hello all. I am fortunate (or foolhardy) enough to get to grow hops in my backyard this year. It is my first time growing them, and I was wondering if anyone on the forums is from Northeast Kansas, and has tried growing them in this climate before. I am reading everything I can get my hands on right now (including the other posts in this category) to ensure a healthy start, and have already pre-ordered the rhizomes.

For the record, I am going to be growing Fuggle, Hallertauer, Willamette, Magnum, and Kent Golding. I'll certainly post pics when the bines start to fill out.

Thanks
