Early Harvest for Sure!

I cant believe it but my cascade plant is almost ready to harvest(about a month away). With this warm spring I had cones on my plants in mid may. Compared with august of last year. Has anybody else had early crops this year? I like fresh hop ale in july, but is this global warming or what?

Oh, yeah, global warming it is!
But just think about it: by you growing your hops you are not only helping to fight global warming while reducing greenhouse gases, but getting some fresh homegrown hops along the way. Well done!

I've got bracts on my tettnanger but not on the other plants. They are all growing like gangbusters. It's a crazy year for my hops that's for sure. I might outrun the spider mites if I'm lucky.

I am waging full on war with the spider mites. Luckily they have not gotten to the upper part of the plant.

I just pulled my first harvest off my 3rd year Cascades. 3 dry oz. I'm waging manual war on the spider mites cause my sister in law behind me is now a bee keeper and I'm afraid to use 7. Looking forward to brewing with local fresh honey though.

Neem oil works well for this and is completely organic.
