For clarification purposes, it was never suggested that the intention of rinsing was for storage purposes. It's not. There was the curiosity of how long that window was, but rinsing was about separating out the desired yeast from the rest of the culture.
I just thought that needed stated since during my hiatus this has turned into somewhat of a storage thread, which was never intended.
