Damn... Ants? That's dedication to some yogurt!

You technically might need a little more cream in that yogurt to call it cream cheese, but some folks do. Tastes pretty darn close, but not as thick and creamy as the stuff you buy.

yah friggin ants. Apparently Ants live in a moist warm environment and without the ability to attract the lactobacilli and antibiotic microbial forms to themselves would be at the mercy of all the harmful bugs in the soil

There was a video of a turkish peasant woman harvesting ant eggs and making yogurt but the link is now dead but here is a text page on it

You need Google Translate to read it

Here is a link to a page where some one seems to have it dialed in

What??? No urge to dig up an ant nest?

A week or so ago on some channel I surfed to there was a show about a western woman who was in Vietnam learning how to make a salad using live fire ants.

They were crawling all over the salad and they ate it.

I always wondered what the secret the Viets had for producing some of the world's most beautiful women and ugliest guys. Ants.

I've just been reusing 1 gallon yogurt jars and they work great. No bacteria needed.
