I hated those things from the moment I saw them.

So have I. An old neighbor use to wear them as did his toddler son and his wife. They would always wear them around together at the same time. Worse, he always had some long-ass dorky socks on with them.

I don't doubt they are comfortable which is an even better reason for me to never even try a pair on. And for a brew day? Never. I have plenty of shoes to "ruin" if need-be. With my luck that's just asking for a hot, burning wort catastrophe.
