And there is a house attached to it too, I think.

My girlfriend and I are buying our first house! Just signed some papers today. I pushed for this one because of the three car garage which would easily fit SWMBO's car, my tools, and a generous brewroom! Not to mention that the utility room (connected to the garage) is made to accomidate a freezer... perfect fit for my kegerator!

Here are some pictures. Obviously it's under construction still, I will be able to move in late October.

I assume she gets the skinny little side?

She gets the thinnest place on the right where her Xterra will fit... I may tape off her section so she knows not to come into the man area (yeah, that will go over well).

Either way, I will have a nice big garage!

I should say that that opening in the back is going to be sheetrocked over. The previous buyer was going to put a custom garage door on the back, and I don't feel like footing that bill.

If anyone has suggestions for layout, or possibly has pictures of their garage/brewrooms, I would love to see them.

Thirsty,

Congratulations!

Don't bother framing in that hole. Do the garage door thing instead (it's cheaper and you'll thank me later when you're doing your big brews and landscaping the backyard. Trust me.).

I don't think I have the option... I think the builder is closing the wall up. Trust me, I wish it was getting a garage door on it... Texas garages NEED a crossbreeze.

I may have to talk to the builder to see what my options are... I know they don't want to pay for the custom fit garage door.

I would definitely go for the garage door option, or, maybe some sort of frenchwood or sliding door.
You'll thank yourself in the long run for doing it.

So frame the wall to a standard size and put in a standard garage door instead of the custom one.

Even better, get one of those roll-up doors that don't take up your ceiling space. They are the kind you see in self-storage units or auto mechanic bays. My dad has them in his RV-size garage and they are nice.
