				Hey All,
I've been out of contact for a while ... I ended up going to the ER for persistent stomach pains and it took two ER visits before they found that my Omentum (abdominal fat layer) decided to go haywire by attacking my intestines, attaching to them and twisting to the point of striangulation. Once they found it, I was in surgery within an hour. The surgery lasted 4 hours where they untangled my omentum, removed it, checked for any dead intestine sections and removed my appendix (for good measure). Post surgery, I still had a small bowel blockage that persisted for 7 days (just eating ice chips). The blockage finally broke free just before they had to start feeding me via IV and go in for a second surgery. Went home after 9 days in the ICU and have been slowly recovering since. A couple more days without surgery and who knows what would have happened ... intestines removed, poop bag, and/or septicemia (possible death). At least I have phenominal insurance and this whole thing will only cost me ~$150, a few months out of my life, and 20 lbs weight lost (didn't have much extra to spare at 6'1" and 160lbs now).
Luckly, all turned out well and I just have to deal with not lifting anything for several weeks while the 7 inch abdominal incision heals (25 staples total). I have 30 gallons of brew in the kegorator, so hopefully that will last until I can lift 50+ lbs again and brew some more. Looking forward to catching up on the archives and enjoying a live sunday session in the near future.
Think I should start an Omental Infarction Awareness campain?
Cheers to all ... and don't ignore your body when it trys to tell you something is going wrong!
