DOTW 8/14/2011 & Four Loko

Oooooof. So I had my first 4 Loko today. Blue raspberry I think it was. Now I'm polishing off the last of a 6 pack of Spaten O Fest. Wife and kid are away for the night. I must say, that 4 Loko shit is horrible. Get's you there but at a price of having to taste it.

I've been hearing a lot about this 4 loko (where I'm at in the archives). Sadly we don't get it over here in the UK. I have been contemplating buying some local and cheap energy drink, beefing up the gravity and fermenting it. Might get me something similar.

Look up City Brewing Co. being shut down, apparently the waste water treatment plant had to shut down because the good bacteria were dying when that brewery stepped up production of 4 Loko.

Just think about it, bacteria that lives on shit were dying from 4 Loko.

That being said, its aweful but gets ya there.

Trust me, you are not missing out by not having 4 Loco in the UK. If you do end up fermenting those energy drinks I would recommend doing a small batch. I have doubts you are going to be able to pass off 5-10 gallons of this stuff onto friends. I'm not sure if energy drinks are any different in the UK, but just the general taste of them is going to leave you with a high alcohol mess of a beverage. Good luck though, let us know how it goes

I'd have to agree. You really are not missing anything by not having 4 Loko available. In fact, after having that nastiness, I'd have to say that you're better off without it.

I'm no energy drink fan as it is. The taste is terrible but everybody else drinks vodka & Rbull all the time. I think I might give this one a miss then, until I'm really bored at least.
