I tried doing artichokes last year (I loves me some artichokes). They grew OK, but as they wer first-year plants, they didn't produce an actual choke. I don't think they survived the winter... guess I'll know in a few more weeks...

I'll have....

tomatoes
peppers hot and bell about 20 of each.
potaoes
garlic
oragano
chives
basil
amaranth
sorgum
radish

That is probably all I'll put out this year. I had a lot more last year and just not enough time to take care of it all.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

My dreams of a garden vanished when Cheyenne, my english mastiff, was adopted into the family. What does a 240pounds dog eat> every durn thing she wants!

next year i think i'm gonna rip everything out & just plant chilli plants. I want to spend some more time in the kitchen making chilli sauce's & chutneys.. if anyone's interested I found this awesome recipe for a hot habanero sauce: http://www.recipezaar.com/60998

Here in Florida, the land of salt and sand, I have a bountiful harvest each year of:

-sandspurs
-fire ants
-grapefruits, oranges, tangerines
-gopher tortoises (if it weren't for the danged game warden!)
-alligators (if it weren't for the danged teeth!)

I did harvest my first swamp cabbage this year, so I guess I can add that to the list. I plan to make beer from it, so I'll let you all know how that works out.

I'm going to get away from the veggies this year. I'm going to go just hops. I have the Cascade and Hallertau growing. I'm not doing this for the savings, just " because I can" to quote Dr. Scott. I'll let you know how it goes.
