So we are coming up on the new season and I am pretty excited about watching some cars do contiuous left turns at high speed. Call me crazy but racing has always been something of interest.

Been having withdrawal pains ever since the end of last season. Have also been pissed that that b*****d Tony Stewart won the cup. I would be happy with anyone but him. Looking forward to Daytona!

I didn't vote. You left off the "NASCAR is to sports as Coors Light is to beer" option.

Heh, I'm with BeerPal. I grew up 30 minutes from The Rock, and now I live 30 minutes from the speedway in Charlotte. I have no desire to pay money to watch traffic.

"NASCAR is to sports as Coors Light is to beer" gets my vote.

Here in Tennessee, NASCAR is not a sport. It is a religion. I'm not a big fan but in it's defence I put forth this:
True it's not a sport in the traditional way, but the interaction of the driver, spotters, pit crew, and all consists of a "team" that must be practiced and precise. Driving one of these car does indeed require great physical stamina.
Far me, NASCAR is much less banal than football or basebase.
