Ya it's a little weird. Site is Russian, but as far as I can tell is above the board picture hosting site. This same guy is registered on a ton of forum or at least his email is. I'm going to let it stand since he post just in this thread unless Code or Justin has a problem with it. Code check the site if you could please and make sure it's ok. It didn't try to load anything weird on my machine and a virus scan came back clean after I uploaded a picture to them.

These are both hosted on their site.....

Dude-

Nothing personal, but you have no idea the number of spammers and assholes that come on to a forum like this one and their first (and usually only) post is a link to some other site as an advertisement for some "great new service" or "great new product".

Your first post definitely fit this bill, so we are naturally skeptical.

So, tell us about your brewing system, how many batches you have done, and show us pictures of your kegerator if you have one.

Or at least ask us a question or 2 about what kind of brewing kit you should buy or the pros & cons of glass/plastic/stainless fermenters so that you can buy the right one when you go to do your first batch-

Re: Image Hosting: How To

I've overrun my personal space on my ISP's server, so I thought I would try google's image hosting. This is a test. If it works I'll add notes on how to use picasaweb.google.com. -Eric

Image

O.k., that appeared to work. If you have a google account, you can upload photos to picasweb.google.com. Once you have photos there, if you go to an individual photo page, on the bottom right is a link "Link to this Photo >". Click on the little triangle and it gives you a link, and "HTML to embed in website", which is adjusted based on the thumbnail size you have selected. For the photo above, it gave me:

<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/foomench/ClearCreekRafting/photo#5223117945660960898"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/foomench/SHw-GSsW8II/AAAAAAAAAE0/ADK3q5_DnJ0/s400/P7120150.JPG" /></a>

I just sucked out the URL in bold above and put that in an
Code: Select all
[img][/img]
block.

If you want to get fancy, you should be able to translate that HTML into bulletin board stuff that links to the original photo page, like

This works, although in my attempt I didn't get the link border around the photo.

Sorry its not a brewing photo. Those will come later.

The above did work, but apparently is no longer, which may be because I moved photos around. I'm not sure. In the mean time, I was trying the morebeer Buzz network thing, and wanted to test that out.

It appears to work for me, but I could have the image in my cache or something. Tell me if you do or do not see my kegerator above.

picasaweb.google.com now has a button "Image only (no link)" that works so you don't have to fish out the image URL. Here's an image I recently put in my picasa web albums, the "Small 288px" version.

If you want to use a pic as an avatar, you have to remove a bunch of "junk" from the thumbnail code that Lufah was talking about.

For example:
Code: Select all

Needs to be changed to:

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j195/BigChooch/th_avitar.jpg

Then copy/ paste into the link window under TBN forum profiles.

Took me awhile to figure this out. Hopefully this info is helpful to someone.

That worked, thanks for the help!!
