So after reading this thread, I ran to my garage to dump a carboy of its PBW contents, in which, it has been sitting with for over 2 years. Upon inspection, I found no pitting or issues with the stainless. May have just been lucky..............

Side note: food-safe containers are not required for cleaning products. Even if you're cleaning food-contact equipment.

Side note 2: PBW lasts forever & doesn't degrade in it's effectiveness, be it 24 hours, 24 days or 24 months. The smell after a few dozen uses will make you dump it long before it stops working 100% effectively.

I thought that there were some things in the PBW that were only around for a little while (30 minutes or something) and then they were gone, but the surfactants and alkaline cleaner was still in there. I don't remember what it was, but it was covered on that brew strong. Maybe I'll go back and listen to it today to see if I'm full of crap.

Just to add to the confusion. I can't remember where but somebody at sometime told me that it was best to clean beer glasses with PBW as opposed to dish soap. Any thoughts? The idea was that PBW would rinse much cleaner than ordinary dish soap.
