Re: Miller is triple hopped?

Just a thought, if these commercials piss you off, then turn the TV off. I've never seen this ad, nor have I ever allowed Miller to boil my blood. I watch what I want & drink what I want. Everything else is for the sheep. I'll bet you make a better beer. Go drink it w/ a good friend and talk about something important... like who's junk is bigger. Although I do think coldbrau is onto something there.

Jedihoptrick,

One needs to sit down and enjoy a homebrew while watching the NCAA tourny. That commercial pops up every 7 mins lately.

have you seen the Michelob commercial, where a German Hop buyer is shown walking the hops fields in Germany? At the end they show someone pour a bottle of Michelob into an Imperial pint glass, and full that thing to the top! I want that bottle: the one that expands from 12 ounces to 16!

telling me to turn the TV off is a good way to get yourself hurt. TV is all powerful. TV is all powerful. [in a robot voice]

And my coworker wonders why I laugh in his face when he tells me he's perfectly happy with his miller and doesn't want to change... some people aren't worth the effort to try to teach any better. The guy actually tried to use the whole "triple hops" bs on me the other day. Of course he didn't know what it meant when I pressed him on it, but the meme is out there.

There is a plus side to this trend of the Bud/Miller/Coors folks trying to co-opt the craft brew language and culture though, it helps spread the idea of craft beer to people who would never have considered it before. Take Bud's "American Ale", it might be good but not stellar, but it does introduce Bud drinkers to ales. They're doing us a favor even if they think they're trying to take back their market share.

The same could be said of Miller, but without any positives. They're just being lying douchbags, and they're getting called to the carpet for it. Too bad they're too big to notice, or care, that we know they're full of shit. The only way the commercials are going to go away isn't to turn the TV off, it's to explain to our miller drinking compatriots why it's bs. It's more work, I know, but even lazy beer drinkers have to work on occasion.
