Best two week beer recipe?

I have people coming over in about two weeks, and was wondering if there was a way to brew a good light beer in that time? I already have an Irish Red kegged, but was hoping to have a lighter beer to go along with it for people who don't like the darker maltier beers. I'm pretty open to brewing something different, just thought a wheat beer would be my best shot in this time period.

Anyone have any good recipes that could be brewed(starter?), fully fermented, cold crashed (one night?), then force carbed in under two weeks?

Thanks!

Two weeks should be plenty of time to do anything on the lighter end of the spectrum... just get crackin'!

Easy. Brew JZ's Blonde Ale and ferment with WLP002. That should be mostly done fermenting in 3 days, drop clear and ready to keg in 7 days, and ready to serve in 14. The strong-fermenting, highly-flocculent WLP002 is the key here. I've actually force-carbed and served beers made with this yeast at 7 days and no one complained.

You can go a lot of directions, the typical answer is hefe or something like that. I say, take any 1.050 style and ferment it with wlp007. It will be clear in four days, ramp up temps to 70-1 and keg at day 9.

Something fairly low gravity is in order. I would suggest an english mild with WLP002.

Wayne.... I'm REAL interested in doing an English mild. Do you have a recipe I could try?

Thanks! :pop

I've brewed Jamil's from his book a few times and I really like it, a lot of flavor and quick turn around.

I turn around APAs in a couple weeks. Keep it on the smaller side. Drink it fresh.
I have never done it but I have heard of people brewing a Mild with a quick fermenting hard flocing yeast and having it serving by day 10.
