Help with a Brew House Kit mod. ingredient.

I am going to be doing a Brew House IPA with a modification. Looked at their website and found the Imperial India Pails of Ale. Got everything but have a problem with 1 lb. Irek light caramel malt (or other caramel malt of less than 3°L). The LHBS that I go to have never heard of (or don't carry) and Caramel less the 15L. What other grain can be used for this? I have been looking around at what is for sale and can't find low lov. caramel. Can this be a typo?
From Brew House website:
Caramel, light (Irek—Germ.); 2.7°L
gives pale beers fuller and more balanced flavour, and improved body, with very little effect on colour.
I can't find this anywhere, does someone know where to get some of this?

Never heard of it, and don't think it is real common. I would think you could split the lowest Lov Caramel you can get with some Carapils like 1:4, 1:3 ratio though.

Am I right in thinking there's no difference between "crystal 1.5 L" and carapils?

I'm with Phil. That's the closest you are going to find, and I doubt you would notice any difference. What percentage of the grist is it?

I am using it to modify a concentrated wort kit from Brew House. It calls for 1 lb to be steeped, so I can't say it is a percentage, just adding to what is already there.
Ingredients for 3 gallons:
1 Brew House Pale Ale kit
1 lb. Irek light caramel malt (or other caramel malt of less than 3°L)
2 oz. Cascade hops
2 oz. Saaz hops
4 oz. East Kent Goldings hops
Wyeast 1056 American Ale yeast

That does sound like carapils or carafoam. I'd be a bit hesitant in using a pound of it in an IPA. Maybe half a pound. But who knows what the concentrated wort is composed of.
PS I just noticed that it's for 3 gallons. That's way too much carapils. Tone it down a tad.

That is the exact recipe copied from the Brew House website, apparently it is an award winner. First time doing something like this, I did their Honey Blonde Ale kit and it came out pretty good for a first timer.

Well don't let me stop you from trying it but it's my opinion that that's way too much carapils for such a small batch. Let us know how it turns out though
