A good sand blaster and disc grinder is what I always tell people to use. :lol:

BKF worked really good for me to get nail rust out of a donated pot. I used the BKF and a green scrubby and a bit of elbow grease. Once it was clean I boiled water in it, then washed it with PBR and Star San in it after that. No real problem noticed since.
