I always flush the empty growler with CO2 after sanitizing. It's pretty amazing how much more time you can get out of an unopened one. Those caps are leaky, so it makes a huge difference on 02 transfer. The trick is to find a bartender who isn't an idiot. Good luck in that department, I sure don't have any.
