Beer Smith

Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:10 pm

Ok I was brewing today and went to weigh my hop additions... and there I was! LOL !!!

I thought there was a way to convert the Oz to Grams in Beer Smith?

My Scale reads standard US, as well as Metric. I have found the Metric is a bit more accurate, and user friendly so I wanted to use that. I mean come on.. 1.4 Oz. what is that?! Grams are So much easier...

So I thought there was a way to just switch what the Program would use as a base measurement...? any suggestions?

Tools>Options>Units You can then select metric for just the hops if you want and leave the grain in pounds, or whatever you want.

LOL I thought about it, but My boil was going and I was like this time around it'll be fine.. in the end... will I have Beer... :aaron Hell yeah! and with how well everything else went... I little under or over hopping. who cares. Its not a competion beer... just all practice right now. :D

About the only issue I have now is I chilled it down so far (about 50*) that when I pitched I hope I didnt send all the lil yeasties into shock! I should have waited till it warmed back up before pitching.

Plethora of other utilites out there, such as Google to convert as well. You did not have to rely on Beersmith itself...........

I know. I wasn't that concerned about it. a gram or two either way wouldn't be changing much on this beer. My biggest thing was actually making the change in Beer smith for future brewing where it might make a difference. :)
