After the harvest what should i do with the bines? I water regularly to keep from drying out the rhizomes but do I cut the bines or let them die in the winter. I'm in central california if it matters.

I cut mine back to the ground in Nov. each year, then mulch them with compost. Actually, just like I do the asperagus.
