Re: Char-Broil Natural Gas Hose with Blichmann Floor Burner?

The bar pushes a pin in it's mating female part which is part of an internal safety valve that will shut off the gas flow if the QD is detached during gas flow while the main shutoff is open. Safety is intregal to the design of any gas system. Not all QD's are interchangeable. If you purchased the Char-broil thow it back in the box, take it back, get your moneyback, and buy what works, before your part of a huge fireball...BYE ~gk

P.S. Flow direction is marked so that the QD engineered safety shut design off will function to protect you. As you extend from the source of the gas you always need a male connector on your appliance to plug into a female socket on the end of your line. The safety mechanism is built into the Female Socket. This is why the cost of the female socket is much higher than the mating male part.

If you have any more questions about the capabilities of a 3/8 ID suppy to fire a single Blichmann burner, go to the Blichmann Engineering site and contact John Blichmann through their "contact us" feature. He will respond usually within 3 days. I believe their top tier has switched to 1/2" because you may have multiple burners running at one time. I think it used to be 3/8, but I am not positive. Their new burner is jetted perfectly for Natural Gas.

I agree with the last poster. Purpose may be to unseat the poppet. The mating piece would give indication of that.

I use Standard Industrial Brass QD's for my system. You can find them anywhere. NBR O'rings are rated well with Natural Gas and brass is great. FYI

Any Parker distributor will have those. I am going to do some research. I think we have LPG/CNG/LNG fittings..............more to come.

Very good - thank you.

I received my Blichmann last week and can't wait to use it. I have Brewcraft Dead Guy kit that is on deck.

Too bad it's not all-grain. I don't do much with extract anymore.
