How much grain have you squeezed in to a 10 gallon round igloo?

According to that calculator, the answer is 125lbs. Less if you want to put water in there too.

I have mashed up to 20 pounds with 1 quart per pound ratio in my 10 gallon igloo.

21 was my record, but it was a BITCH!!! I like to keep it under 19 if possible with a reasonable grain to water mash ratio. (read- stuck sparges suuuucccckkkk...)

I often do 14 pounds in my 5 gallon Gott and get 70% efficiency. I would expect to be able to do 28 in a 10 gallon cooler.

Here's 26.5# in a old 48 qt Igloo Ice Cube Deluxe. The cooler has a false bottle that takes up a little room. If you want to see the false bottom, see the gallery.
