Blichmann burner vs. Banjo Burner

I am upgrading to doing 12 gallon batches and want to upgrade my burner.

I am stuck between the Blichmann Floor burner and the Banjo Burner with Stand. It seems Blichmann uses a banjo burner for their floor burner but claim better efficiency. I am just questioning whether it is worth the $60 extra for the Blichmann floor burner over the Banjo Burner with stand on NortherBrewer.com

Is the Blichmann that much more efficient?

The Blichman is much quieter and well built - stainless should last a brewer's lifetime.

It's your call if that is worth the extra coin. I was so happy with the first and bought a second one for the HLT.

I also purchased the optional legs.

At this time, the blichmann was worth every penny. The bayou I had was pretty much junk...don't know if you're into bicycling, but think of a bike whose frame is solid, but the components suck...that's a bayou burner for you. Regulator is cheap, hosing is cheap, needle valve was crap, stand i had was okay...anyway you get the picture. Blichmann is the solid frame with top of the line components.

Blichmann, hands down. Got the Banjo for Christmas one year and the thing made me fear I was going to blow up the house. Issues with lighting it and going out, etc. Tried a new regulator to know avail. The company who makes the burners were very helpful, including sending a new regulator. However, from a safety level it scared me. Called northern brewer and traded it for the Blichmann. I haven't looked back since. I recommend anyone looking for a new burner to get the Blichmann. Quality product and customer service. The silence of the burner is worth it's weight in gold!

Do the leg extension provide a tight fit without wobble? I like the idea of the leg extensions but how stable are they in the real world.

No wobble with the leg extensions, but man does it make the burner and kettle tall!
