Damn, man. Anything else make you leave, or was it just the brewery factor? :aaron

I was getting a masters degree at FSU and was stuck in a rut of not knowing what the hell I wanted to do with my life, just getting a masters because it delayed having to make a decision and get a real job. I decided I wanted to be a brewer, and Florida had effectively no real opportunities for that. So based nearly only on that fact, I moved to Colorado. It was between the Front Range of Colorado, Portland, and the Bay Area. I think it is kind of funny that now I am going to be moving to the Bay Area in the next year or so (hopefully).

But even taking away the breweries in Colorado, I would rather live here than Florida. I don't miss the beach much, and the weather out here is way nicer.

Currently I am the brewer at Yak and Yeti Brewpub in Arvada (a tiny Nepalese brewpub), but I am also the head brewer of Heretic (JZ's brewery) so I will be out there a bunch starting in a couple of weeks. I am not sure where I will be living come September, or if I will still be with the Yak, but I am sure I will be in town for GABF. Hard to miss that event.

Right on. I moved to CO on a whim as well, in '98. Fort Collins is where I landed for about 3 years, then in Denver for 2, when I went to AI. I lived at 26th and Alcott off the west side of Speer. I miss it somthin' fierce!
