Made A Cheap Mash Tun with false bottom

Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:15 pm

I bought a 52 qt. tamale pot from a flea market new for $50. Comes with a false bottom with 1/2" holes in it already. Since those are too big, I took the lid that came with the pot, cut it down to the same size as the original false bottom, and then drilled a million holes in it. It works great! Even has a handle for lifting it out. Was wondering if anyone else has done this. Seems like a great option for those who want to recirculate and directly fire. Anyway. Brewing on friday. Round two of CYBI Lagunitas IPA.

Every thing on this forum picture wise has to be hosted somewhere else. Easy way to do yours is right click your image copy location. Then use the img button at the top then paste your location between the bracketed img's.
