Motorized Barley Crusher modification pix

Thanks to all who made suggestions and especially to code and bcmaui, without whose expert help I wouldn't have been able to make this thing work:

I added a junction box and rocker switch. Now all the connections are hidden and the mill runs in forward or reverse at the touch of a switch.

It was suggested that the mill would produce a lot of dust. I added a dust collection system. We'll see how effective it is. Might need more work.

Here is the complete rig. I'm really happy with the way it came out. It mills grain like nobody's business.

That's it. I'm stealing your ideas. Nice work, brotha.

Parts list and sources would be a good idea. I'd like to do this to my barley crusher at some point down the road.

Jeezus. OK.

The cart was $65.00, new and I found it on craigslist. It is an off-brand (actually no brand, that I can see) and was sold by a guy with a warehouse full of off-brand crap. Search for "utility cart".

The motor is a GE gearmotor from surpluscenter.com. Here is a link:
https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp? ... tem=5-1074

The motor mounting "L" brackets are of 1/8" flat bar that I bent and drilled myself.

The Lovejoy spider coupler is aluminum and came from Grainger. The motor side is 1/2" and the mill side is 3/8". Here is a link:
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/pr ... L1=Lovejoy

The upper fitting for the dust collection system is an 8" round grate from Ace Hardware. Similar to this:

The sleeve part of the dust collection system was cut from a 3" Drain-Sleeve found at Home Depot. Here is a link:
http://www.carriff.com/Products/drain-sleeve.htm

The lower fitting is part of a "Dryer Dock" quick disconnect, also found at Home Depot:
http://www.ventpro.org/

The junction box is non-conductive plastic, 4"X4"X2", found at Home Depot and is similar to this:

The switch came from Ace Hardware, is a DPDT On-Off-On rocker. Similar to this:
