If you use Miracle grow on your hop plants how often do you put it on your plants? Is twice a month too much?

Once every 2 weeks.

Use it once every 2 weeks...about twice a month sounds just right. When the plant starts to flower though you might change up the formulation of fertilizer and use a bloom builder. I'm no expert, but I've had at length conversations with folks who know their stuff about other varieties of home grown plants ; )

it is my first season growing hops so you should probably disregard everything I say but I believe that in one of the hop growing Sunday Shows they mentioned every two weeks at half the recommended dosage, so I've been sticking to that regiment. My Miracle grow says 1/3 a cap per 2gal so I use 1/3 cap per 4 gal. Has been working okay I think, as it is early July and my Saaz and Cascade just started to flower a week ago. I'm in Minnesota so, I bet, the climate is always a factor too. By the way some of the hop growers on the forum should organize a hop trade come harvest if that isn't already happening.

I have a question about miracle grow as well. Should I stop using it once they start flowering so the stuff doesn't end up in my beer?

I wouldn't think so. I have been using it in my garden for years. I think it is designed for vegetable gardens.

Still, I use the stuff sparingly. I mostly concentrate on maintaining good soil.
