2009 hops at morebeer

Mon Jan 05, 2009 10:51 pm

So, I get all my ingredients at morebeer because I got no LHBS here and I usually like to order all the ingredients to make about 6 or 7 batches at one time. My question is: when will this years shipment of hops start to arrive? I don't want to order 7 batches worth of grains based on limited hop availability and then come to find out the new hop shipment arrived the next day.

FWIW, I was in the Riverside store a few days ago and they said they're still waiting on their 2009 allotment (2008 crop) to be shipped. They were unsure of a specific arrival date for any of the hops. You may need to hit up NB, Midwest Supplies, or Austin Homebrew at this point.

i thought i'd bring this thread back to life because i'm planning on placing another order soon, probably for my next 6 batches or so, and I wanted to see if anyone has any inside info on morebeer hops. I dont want to place a huge order someplace else if they might be getting some new hops soon.

Just bought 4 lbs of hop pellets from hopsdirect.com.

Magnum, Cascade, Centennial, and Northern Brewer. Average price was $25/lb.

I had bought a bunch of hops from them last year, still have some left. Decided to place another order after paying $8 for 2 ounces of Centennial to dry hop an APA.

thanks for the link, but thats way too much. i brew 5 gallons right now and pounds of hops are just too much. i'm looking at a couple ounces, 2 or 3 at most, per variety.

BTW, North Country Malt Group has their 2009 hops listed now in the homebrew section. Just ordered a 1# of German Magnum...

If you haven't already ordered, you might look at http://www.nikobrew.com. He's selling hops in 2 oz packs or by the pound. He's the only place I can find that sells Simcoe by the pound. I love Simcoes, so I bought those as soon as I found them. I bought some Amarillo, Cascade and Summit too. The $5 flat rate shipping is nice too.
