How does one open the differential?

1. Press and hold the MENU button until the display changes to flashing SP. This will take about 2 seconds.
2. Press the Up or Down button repeatedly until the desired function is displayed. You will choose dIF
3. Press the MENU button to display the function’s current value.
4. Press the Up or Down button until the desired value is displayed. To open this up you will go from your current 1° to something like 2°-3°
5. Press the MENU button to save the new value. The display then returns to the sensor temperature.

Tape the probe to the side of your keg then cover with a folded up paper towel and tape again. The probe will actually read the temp of the keg and not the air. Then when the controller is set to 1 degree diff, it takes quite a while to get the keg temp to change by 1 degree.

Agreed, this is what I do too. I also set the adjustable anti-short cycle delay to 12 min. thus insuring that it will not start more than every 12 minutes no mater what the temp is.

Thanks to both of you. I though the differential was how long it would run, not how long in between cycles.

I taped mine to the fermenter and used about 3 layers of bubble wrap (I had plenty from recent B3 and NB orders).
