NHC scoresheet entry numbers question

Thu May 02, 2013 4:01 pm

This is the first time I've received results back from NHC. I can't
match up the entry numbers on the scoresheets with my entry numbers that
my beers were labelled with. Fro the Boston Homebrew Competition the scoresheet number was a
composite of category and my entry numbers. The NHC scoresheet entry
numbers all started with 011 which I assume was the 1st round NY site
but the last 3 digits don't match up with any of my labels that went on my 8
entries save 1 and that had the same last three numbers as one of my
entry numbers but for the wrong beer. My competition website info show
the same scores as the sheets I got but not the same entry numbers. But
the types of beer are the same 8 types.

The reason I started back checking my entry numbers is that 2 judges on a pair of score sheets told me I shouldn't use screw top bottles. I don't use screw top bottles to cap. Hell I wouldn't even use Bohemia bottles even though they seemed to seal because I didn't like that they looked different!

Does anyone have experience with this that they can explain the
numbering and how I can confirm the scoresheets I got are for my beers?

They renumber the entries when they receive them to keep it more anonymous. I'm not sure how they do it everywhere but in Seattle one of the original labels gets stapled to the scoresheets and on that is a label of the new number/barcode.

I would email the organizer about the screw top one since that definitely sounds like something got screwed up.

The double blind thing makes sense. The twist off thing doesn't. I emailed the person for that site we'll see. Guess I'm just bummed the best I did was a few 29's.

Thanks
