Anyone made the Roggenbier recipe JZ has posted on his page? If so, how did it turn out? I'm planning on brewing it Sunday.

I have, and it's a good beer (as are all of Jamil's recipes when brewed well). I don't pick up a whole lot of rye spiciness, but it placed second at the US Open a few weeks ago. I was just expecting the rye to be something very different, but it's my first rye experience so I don't have much basis for comparison.
Ferment it cool, 62ish, as Jamil recommends and you'll be fine.

I assume it was fairly cloudy.....?

Yea it's pretty cloudy. There were also a good deal more chunks (protein from the rye I suppose) in the boil than I usually get.

I brewed JZ's roggenbier. It advanced to the NHC second round. That should give you a hint as to how it came out.

One of the best beers I have brewed to date.

No, if it were my first time brewing it I'd do it exactly the same way I did. When I brew it again (my 2nd time with the recipe) I'll probably beef up the rye malt a touch.
Just brew it and see what you think, it'll be a fine beer if your process is solid.

I'm brewing one Saturday as well, slightly modified with the Rye at 50%. Of course with the addition of 5# of rice hulls [for 10 gallons]!
