I just had my first cans of Bitter American (here on the east coast) last night. What a great session ale!! Load of hop aroma and flavor without the huge malt bill and abv. I've got the grains to brew an APA based on Tasty's apa, and am considering Chinnok/Simco/Amarillo for hops.

Any idea what hops are used on Bitter American? Is there an accurate clone recipe out there for it? Curious, as it was really great, and I'm guessing it's also a brew that is ready to drink pretty quickly too given the low abv.

I actually just bought a six pack of Bitter American 2 weeks ago and was equally impressed but not surprised at how fantastic it was. I look forward to brewing it this spring. There are a few recipes floating around the net but all the hop and malt info is on their site: http://21st-amendment.com/beer/bitter-american

More Beer also has a recipe kit but I'm not sure if the hops match up 100% to what it says on 21A's site.

Just had my first last night. Great beer. Probably one of the easiest drinking and tasty beers I've ever had. Best I've had from 21A since hop crisis. Well done Sully (and thanks for not forgetting us east coasters)

+1 Allies Win the War is one of the best beers I've ever had. In my top 10 of strong ales for sure.

Any information on how many calories are in Bitter American? I'm about eight six packs into it now, trying to loose some weight and replacing beers like Celebration and Sweatwater IPA. I've lost ten pounds in a little over a month with some good eating decisions, but mostly attributable to drinking a little less and choosing to drink lower calorie beer. Bitter American sure does make that easy. Is it really a seasonal? I'm going to miss it if it is.
