Anyone want to share a wet hop recipe, my hops are just about ready. I have a good amount of Cascade hops but my Willamette hops didn't even flower.

Ok, so maybe I'm a bit of a dumb ass, maybe a bit drunk to, how about a fresh hop recipe.

I haven't ever done one, but I'm planning on taking my standard pale ale recipe and doing a ton of fresh hops into it. Thats my plan anyway

I haven't ever seen a specific recipe for a fresh/wet hop beer. Just take a recipe and use 4 times the amount of hops (I think that is the correct conversion - someon eplease correct me if I am wrong)

Yeah, 4-5x times the amount of wet hops to dry is the usual figure quoted. IIRC, Ralph Olsen of Hop Union recently said about the same thing.

Vinnie Cilurzo gave a recipe for a wet hop beer on the 1/15/2006 show.

Basically he said to have a grain bill like an IPA with 2-row, Crystal 40, Carapils, etc.

Shoot for an OG of 1.064 and a FG of 1.012.

IBU's in range of 55-70.

6.75% ABV.

90 minute boil for a 10 gallon batch, so hit kettle with 12-13 gallons.

Here are the hop additions.

@90 minutes: 3 oz. Chinook and 14 oz. Cascade
@ 30 minutes: 10 oz. Cascade
@ 0 minutes (flameout): 11 oz. Cascade and 5 oz. Chinook

Dry hop with 2 oz. Cascade and 2 oz. Chinook

Total is 47 oz. (almost 3 pounds) of wet hops, which is composed of 37 oz. Cascade and 10 oz. of Chinook.

I suggest checking out the archive. He has lots of great information about growing hops.

Here's a link to the mp3: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/archiv ... -15-06.mp3
