Can anyone point me to an tried-n-true braggot recipe out there? I have been looking around for a good one for a while, but have not been happy with what I've found.

Thanks!

Not exactly Braggot, but if you sub honey for a portion of the fermentables:

Took a gold when my buddy brewed this at the Cascade Brewer's cup a month ago, but me and guys in my brew club have been making variations of it for over 2 yrs. Play with it. He did his version using Wyeast 1098. This is a really good base recipe that comes out strong as hell yet incredibly drinkable.

You usually seem to get more braggot recipes at mead sites than beer sites.

Gotmead has 10 of them.

This is a great lawn mower braggot. Recipe out of Homebrew Favorites book.
3.3 lbs John Bull malt extract (liquid) I used Alexanders 4lb pale liquid extract.
3 lbs clover honey
1 oz cascade 50 min
1/2 oz cascade 5 min
any neutral ale yeast
OG 1.042

for all grain I substituted 4.5 lbs 2 row and .5 lbs crystal 10 for the LME.

Brew this one now for winter. I was shooting for a White Winter Braggot clone.
6 1/4 lbs 2 row
1 lb wheat malt
.5 lb aromatic
.5 lb crystal 40
.5 lb special B
.5 lb chocolate malt
7 lb wildflower honey at end of boil
1 oz cascade 60 min.
.5 oz 5 min
any neutral ale yeast
OG 1.096

Thanks Mallard - did they give an recommendations for fermentation temps or for how long? Aging?

Let us know how it comes out.
