Fantasy Beer Recipes

Ok, so on another home brew forum I go to there are a few threads packed with geek info about creating recipes for fantasy and sci-fi beer.

As an avid D&D player I decided to combine the two and create an ale that I thought dwarves might enjoy. In many fantasy novels dwarves really enjoy drinking as well as stone or wood work. They are said to take a lot of time and care in their crafts and thus I thought they would take a similar approach to their brewing. So....I came up with what I thought a dwarven old ale might look like. Post your recipes! :aaron

I play WOW sometimes (no really, only sometimes......) and I always thought it would be funny to make a beer and name it after one of the beers on there so here goes:

Thunderbrew Stout
6 gal final volume
7.5 collected and boiled
60% efficiency
50 IBU's
SRM: Black Like the Night
10% ABV

Grains:
20# Marris Otter
2# Flaked Barley
1# Roasted Barley
.75# crystal 120
.5# British Crystal 55
.5# British Chocolate Malt

Adjuncts:
2# Dark Brown Sugar

Hops:
3oz EKG 5.5 alpha 60 minutes

Yeast:
11g. Nottingham

Mash low to keep it fairly drinkable, on my system that's starting at 150 and after about an hour like 148. Be good to the yeast to ensure a complete fermentation to keep it fairly drinkable.

Dude, that is WAY too much oak. I can't imagine that you would taste anything with all the mouth puckering astringency.
