RO Water Percentages

Wed May 11, 2011 4:54 am

My well water (no water report ) kind of went south last winter. I never got a water report though. I went with a 50/50 blend of ro and well water. It seemed to work out. I used 75% RO with a light lager. Much better, bland, but better. I plan on making an AIPA next week. This may not be a fair question with no water report now, but what % of RO/well water should I use for an IPA?

You're only kidding yourself by not getting a water report on your well, but the evidence is that a 50% mix worked well enough. I'm sure you've previously tried straight well water and that was less successful and you indicated that the 75% dilution wasn't as appealling. Go with the 50% mix in the absence of better information.
