Here it is. Just recently completed. I don't have the second temp control or the fan's installed yet - but otherwise she's ready.

She sits on top of my 14.8 CF chest freezer. It will have two temp controls - one for the bottom that controls the freezer for serving temps and one for the fans on top to control the fermentation temp. The fans will be two 120MM fans - one that draws from the bottom, and one that pushes back down.

The whole thing is insulated with two layers of 3/4" rigid insulation (~ R10)(extruded polystyrene - not the "coffee cup" expanded poly). There are two trap doors that lift out to access the kegs. This will easily hold 4 6.5 gallon carboys. I only have two ventamatics on there right now - but I left space for 4 more.

Here is the link for all the construction photos. A full write up will be on www.wortomatic.com shortly.

Sweet. Do you have any idea if the fans will draw enough cool air into the chamber?

That is kick ass! How cool can you get the fermentation chamber?

I like the idea. Is it easy to get to the bottles?
how do you heat the top portion while keeping the bottom cold?

Well I think his idea is it will be self warming. Or the temp controller will only add cool to it. The idea I think is it will be cooler then the room it is in so heating is not a problem.

Remember it is on top of the freezer/keg cooler and cold air sinks.

Now if you had it outside then you would need some kind of heat if you are in a cold climate. Same with your keg cooler.
