Kegerator finally finished.

Well today me and a friend finally finished the kegerator. About 8 months ago we started this project by making the collar and foot. It worked so we kinda let the rest go. Here is a picture of our finished work. Only thing that needs to be finished is the staining of the coner moulding. Today we also did the shadow box for my pint glasses and scotch. Only thing I need for those is the glass shelves.

Did you cover the whole freezer in wood? Is their a gap between the wood and the freezer for air circulation?

There is a small gap. But there is also a grill on the back for heat dissapation. Not to mention the wood is 1/8th of an inch. I think I don't have to worry about it overheating.

Oh ok, because my chest freezer expels heat around the whole thing when it is cooling. The sides get pretty warm, so I've read on other boards that you should cover the freezer with wood because the heat can not disperse fast enough and it can shorten the life of the compressor.
BTW, it looks very nice I like the finish, and I actually like the corner molding how it is. You should stain it clear or natural, it looks good.

Your set up looks way smooth Bentwood, I wish I had the time to dress mine up a little. I see JW red but what is the bottle next to that?

Glen Morangie Port Wood Finish.
The JW Red is there because I don't think I am going to put my Blue out. I like to keep that out of sight out of mind. That way it will last a bit longer.

Is that little footstool under the taps so little kids can get a pint a bit easier? Just kidding, looks good!

Yeah hey, Nice job there Bentwood! Looks like you put a lot of time into it I'm sure it'll pay off with all the nice comments you'll get in the soon to come beer sessions.
