Another benefit of plastic

Plastic buckets can have spigots. No need for siphoning, which risks oxidation and contamination. Just gotta make sure that spigot stays clean, which isn't that tough IMO.
I hate to siphon beer.

I siphon with no trouble or oxidation. I use plastic primary and glass and plastic carboys. :)

I started out with the plastic fermentation bucket but switched to glass carboys after I brewed and fermented an american brown ale that was fairly high hopped. The odor from the hops permeated into the plastic. Even after several overnight soaks in bleach, the odor remains. I prefer to siphon. IMHO, a spigot in a plastic fermentation bucket poses a couple of risks such as, leaks, harbor for bacteria. No matter what method you use to transfer the beer into a secondary or bottling bucket, good sanitation and quiet siphoning are paramount.

I primary in plastic buckets, secondary in glass. The big advantage to siphoning is leaving more trub behind in the bucket.

My friends family owns a glass factory. We are working on a siphonless (glass) carboy. Stay tuned!

I don't care about siphonless..I care about unbreakable! Can you make one of those? I also want an opening as big as a bucket so it's easy to clean and harvest yeast from.
