How do you do it?

I was reading the back of my PBW and it says to let it soak for 20-30 min then rinse with the same temp water. I have heard to let it set, keg or bottles, for 24 hours. How do you all do it?

Second, for those that get their grains from a store, do you weigh them yourself or just take the store's word? My LHBS ususally puts a little more in, about 2-4 points per batch.

Thank you in advance.

PBW

I took some lessons from the Session where they had the 5 Star guy.

I mix up some PBW and let it sit in waht ever carboy needs to be cleaned. When a new carboy needs to be cleaned. I scrub and rinse, scrub and rinse, scrub and rinse, rack PBW into it. There it sits unitl I repeat this, cold be months could be days. Have some PBW going for about a year, (not sure), may have made a fresh batch.

Search for the 5 star show...
It will answer all your questions

If I'm not in a hurry I'll let it sit for days, usually using cold water. Works great. If you're in a hurry, use hotter water and it'll work quick, but be careful when using hot water in a carboy, they can crack from quick temp changes.

As far as grains, I re-weigh. The store usually goes a little heavy.
