I was going to brew yesterday but decided it would be best to do it on Saturday (sunny and warmer) and my starter is not quite ready yet but I did all my cleaning and sanitizing anyway. Will I need to do this again on Saturday? My equipment is sitting in the basement.

I would definitely sanitize again. The minute your equiptment has dried, it is subject to the nasty's.

I actually kind of disagree with Badrock on this one.

I store most of my gear cleaned and sanitized. Kegs are pressurized with just a few pounds to seal the lid. Carboys have foil over their tops. Things that cannot be stored closed like hoses, oxygenation wand and airlocks need sanitizing, of course.

Keeping a bottle of something like Alpet around for quick sprays is a nice time saver too.

Push E.

I do the same as Push. After I clean, I sanitize and cover or seal and I am ready to go next time.

So, if you let your equip sit around open in your basement open for a while, you will need to reclean and sanitize. If you sealed it up, no worries.

I don't disagree with that Push, I do the same thing with certain things. But I was under the impression that he had not stored his equiptment in a seal and sanitized method.

I agree with both Push and BadRock. I would sanitize again anyway. The hoses are going to need it and why not use the keg or fermenter you planned to use?

Alright, I'll chime it too - although all I am doing is agreeing - this time with Dirk McLH. I clean and stanitize after... and santize right before. I don't like the thought of leaving a piece of equipment around for a few weeks if I haven't killed everything that was on there (or at least reducing it to a manageable few) beforehand. For the same reason - because we are santizing and not sterilizing - I sanitize it again just before use.
