What's the best set up for a drain in a BK made from a keg?

Opinions vary. I use a diverter plate/side pickup tube. The bottom "hollow" of the keg is about 1/2 gallon, which I find is usually filled with hot break, cold break, hops, and crap anyway. If you google Greg Mueller or Mueller Brew, I think you should find his site and his set up...

uller's set up is how i assembled mine. i have a welded in couple near where the keg bottom curve startes with a copper pickup tube on a 90* so it sucks up from near the curve edge. After boil i simply give it a really good stirring for 5 minutes or so, then just walk away for about 20 minutes. I pump out and start chilling (cfc) right away and at the end theres a good solid little cone pile of hops and break. Super simple. A false bottom is just something else to clean and mess with. Do yourself a favor and whirlpool it and you can thank us later, or at least muellerbrew
