Whirlpooling

I am in the process of setting up a ten gal syst using kegs,
I have always had somwhat of a problem with trub and used hops clogging up the system ( I usually use whole hops for this reason).
Does whirlpooling work as well for a homebrewer using kegs as it does for a comercial brewer?
I helped out at a brew pub once and he had a 15bbl syst and used pellet hops, when he was finished whirlpooling all of the hops were in a pile in the middle of the kettle
Oh, I use a plate chiller, and would love to go to pellet hops.

You know when I posted this thread I was looking for input, but so far I haven't had any.
Has anyone done this with any amount of success? Can you help a guy out?

I use pellet hops and whirlpool in a converted keg. The key is to let the trub and hops settle for at least 20 minutes the longer the better. I imagine that this kind of goes against the purpose of having one of those plate chillers. I use the Jamil/immersion/whirlpool chiller method and usually let my wort settle for half an hour after turning off my pump.

I don't know about kegs, but I whirlpool 10 gallon batches in a Polarware kettle and it works great. All pellets, all the time, and absolutely no filter screen or scrubbie or whatever on the kettle outlet. The cone forms as advertised. The longer you let it settle after chilling, the clearer the wort you will be able to pull off. I let it sit for up to an hour, with the cover on of course.

Same as Danny...I whirlpool in a polarware kettle. It works great for me though it would work better with a diverter plate. I get great separation and settling of cold break as well as trub.
