Sorry this was supposed to go under the morebeer thread. The BN led me to B3. The only time I go elsewhere is when price is comparable and shipping costs are significantly cheaper. I'm on the east coast and I usually cheap out and go with ground shipping. I don't know if this makes any business sense but I would love it if they could ship from an east coast warehouse.

Man I would love it if B3 opened an east coast warehouse!!! Especially for the big ticket items where we have to pay shipping to get them...

Right, the free shipping deal for a lot of items is great. Actually I've just tried a bunch of items on the B3 website and I'm surprised at what is covered by the free shipping policy. It's more items than I thought.

Not to knock B3, 'cause they are the BOMB, but you gotta support your LHBS, and you have a GREAT one Portly. Keystone Home Brew is an awesome store, though their website is a little outdated. They are extremely supportive of the brewing community here too. I'm about to post about the seminar they sponsored on Brett, given by Nava Parker of White Labs.

I get most of my big ticket items from B3 (free shipping) or Northern Brewer 'cause the prices are much lower, but for ingredients, bottles, and anything I need quickly KHB is the place to go if you are in the northeastern suburbs of Philly.

True Speyedr. I get most of my brew day supplies from Keystone including all of my ingredients. I do get the bigger ticket stuff from B3 or Northern Brewer.

BTW I was at the Brett seminar, it was excellent. The Flanders Red was fantastic. I sent an email off to Chris White and Neva this morning telling them how much I appreciated their involvement.

I did the same. Where were you sitting? I was near the back right next to the beer table. I asked a question about pelicles and whether they will always form, since my attempt doesn't have one yet.

I was in the last row of chairs facing the screen, on the right.

That was a good question. I just assumed that a pellicle always formed.

I was practically right behind you.

I thought the same abut the pellicle, still do actually. She also said that won't drop into the beer, but Jamil has brewed a few Flander's Reds and he said on the show that he knows it's done when the pellicle falls. I think that there just hasn't been enough research in this area yet.
