I have been trying to open this stainless ball valve to clean out all the shit in there but for the life of me it won't open. I have another valve just like it and it opened fine so I know it can be done. Any ideas? I had 2 crescents on there. I am going to probably just order a 3 part clamp to replace but still want to get this f'er open out of principle.

The standard two piece are thread locked. Chemical Thread Locker such as Loctite. Not really meant to be taken apart. Get ones that are..........

To follow up on Kbar's comment, get a 3-piece stainless steel ball valve and clean it frequently.
Something like this:
