Sorry if this one has been posted already, but I just came across this new gadget on Kickstarter and it's exactly what I need to control ferm temps without blasting my guest bedroom A/C 24/7, plus I can finally lager.

Is there anything similar on the market at the moment? If so, someone please point me to it...

No, there isn't, at least not that I have seen. They had the first prototype last year at NHC, and unfortunately, the kickstarter didn't get funded. This year, with a new design, it got funded in about 6 days. So they should be hitting the streets in Oct. time frame. I'm a backer, so I guess I'm in the Oct. batch, which is fine... (Not affiliated) but I thought it was a pretty cool idea!!

Neat idea! How does it handle blow offs?

Good question. I noticed they have an answer on the updates page:

Basically you need to drill a hole in the neck of the carboy and attach a blow off tube. Apparently the Better Bottles they are giving to funders already come pre-drilled.

Appears to be a simple TEC (Thermoelectric) Peltier Cooler. I wonder how the cool the dip tubes, as the cooling surface is usually just a 72W Peltier chip (12V). Need to move the heat into the tube from the fermenting wort, up the tubes and into the cool-side of the chip face, out the heat sink helped by the fan.
