I am doing a whirlpool similar to Jamil with the copper tubing inside the boil pot with a tee and two tubes going in different directions. My question is that if I solder the tee to he tubing, is it safe to put into the hot . As in is it not dangerous to drink. I am planning on using lead free solder if I do it. I have not done it yet, so I am debating of using solder or not. If I don't use solder, I will just push the tubes on the tee w/o solder.

Sure, why not? Use solder meant for potable water.

what is the melting temp of that solder?
if it is less than 300 I would say no , just stick them together

Use flux and lead-free solder.

Everything I soldered together in my brewery got boiled once before it was used to make beer. Just to get it nice and clean and make sure all the flux was out of it.

I read solder can contribute to off flavors in beer. BUT my brew pot is a converted keg with a bunghole I cut out a stainless plug for the bunghole and soldered it in place. I have brewed 10 plus times (90 minute boils) with no leaks in the plug I used standard lead free plumbing solder, and I can’t detect off flavors, between beers brewed in my keg and those I did in a pot.

I have used solder in several areas that are in prolonged contact with wort and I have not tasted any off flavors

I PMed John Palmer about this thread and this is the answer that I got....

There should be no problems whatsoever in using silver solder with the copper wort chiller in the boiler. Even though silver solder is mostly tin, the tin is soluble in the silver and it won't corrode in the wort. Don't use tons of it, make a good clean joint, but it will be fine.
